Walking About with the Quiet

I decided upon the Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery (https://www.facebook.com/WappingersFallsCemetery) for today's photography adventure. I was scouting on Google maps, looking for a new location and happened first upon the Middlebush Cemetery (Google Map), but I was looking for larger ground to cover. In a list of historic attractions, provided by the Office of the Town Historian (Wappingers - http://www.townofwappinger.us/pdf/Historic%20Sites.pdf), next to pop on the list for me was the Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery. It actually took some work to locate, as it isn't registered on Google Maps and doesn't appear to have an official web presence, other than a Facebook page I stumbled onto, which gave me enough clues to locate it by studying Google satellite telemetry. I took a slow drive through the Village of Wappingers and successfully found the entrance.

My first challenge was navigating the space, as I'd never been there before and the road is mono-directional for driving throughout the cemetery (More than once, I took a loop around and had to find my way all the way through to the entrance. Once finally parked, I was able to dismount the adventure-mobile and go for a careful, quite walk.

I attempted to find some background for the Wappingers Falls Cemetery, but it seems I have yet another mystery to solve. I skimmed through the history summary of Wappingers Falls on the official town site (http://www.townofwappinger.us/history_tow.html - while the Village of Wappingers also has a site, I couldn't locate any historic details - http://wappingersfallsny.gov/), and the Wappingers Falls Cemetery isn't mentioned (At least not by that name). I did find a single reference(http://dutchesstourism.com/PDF/brochure-rack/wf-greenway%20trail.pdf), stating that it was established in 1849. I may have to pop into the Grinnell Library and see if I can gather any more information there.
